Clinical Doctorate of Social Work

The Wurzweiler Clinical DSW program is designed to enhance the knowledge and skill base of experienced post MSW clinicians who are either in direct practice with a client base, supervisors or administrators of clinical programs. We are dedicated to preparing you to become scholarly evidence-based clinicians, leaders in social service agency settings, educators in clinical social work education.

Unlike PhD programs, which emphasize social work research and research skill development, our DSW offers a comprehensive format for advancement for those already practicing clinical social work. The program incorporates historical, contemporary and emerging clinical theories and therapy models for direct clinical practice with individuals, couples, families,groups and communities. The Clinical curriculum coursework and Grand Challenge project consists of evidence-based clinical practice, research, ethics, and educational pedagogies and practices in the area of clinical social work.
