On behalf of Care Café, Happy Purim!
On Monday, March 14, 2022, Care Café and Nachas Health of Borough Park Brooklyn, welcomed more than 150 Holocaust survivors to Schick’s Manor for a wonderful celebration. Families gathered to celebrate life and love with messages of hope, inspiration, and courage.
Rizy Horowitz, director of Nachas Health, and her team of dedicated volunteers were joined by political dignitaries that included State Senator Simcha Felder, who reflected on the preservation of Jewish culture and the important contributions and sacrifices of Holocaust survivors.
Survivors were provided with candy bags, materials regarding Social Security, managed-care plan enrollment and additional benefit services available in the community. The collective strength of our survivors filled the room as they clapped and danced the afternoon away to selections by musical headliner Lipa Schmeltzer.
Care Café is so appreciative of this very special partnership with Nachas. During Passover, Care Café will be facilitating a home visit program to homebound survivors to bring them resources and offer emotional support as needed.
Special thanks to Care Café Intern Allysha B. for her support with facilitating this event. Learn more about and listen to .
